Hi everyone, I recently did a fresh install of windows on my reckoner and re installed the Pupil software provided for my figurer.  While trying to activate information technology information technology asks me to connect my calculator.  I exercise this and so it tells me that my calculator was already used to activate a Student software program thing. D:  Does anyone know another mode to transfer files to the Nspire CX CAS without the student software?  I've heard of TILP just I wasn't sure if it was uniform with the CX CAS.  I already emailed TI about information technology just they accept not replied yet.

You can utilize the TI-Nspire Computer Link Software.
It doesn't demand any license and it is lighter and faster than the student software (because designed only for transferring).

Possibly TiLP volition work too simply I really don't know about this one.

Sweetness thank you.  Do y'all know if I can update the OS that way likewise?

Yes, both TINCLS (preferably version iii.two) and TILP II 1.16 / 1.17 beta tin communicate with a CX (CAS) and, among other things, upgrade the OS.
Present, these tin can be installed side by side, with some manual configuration.

TILP supports most things that TINC(L)S support; among other things, nested folders are missing, and Os 3.ii isn't supported well (TI changed the protocols again without documenting, as usual) - but many people don't intendance about that lacking Os version (yet).

Aye sadly the Pupil software licence is a one-time license. Once you format your computer or get a new 1, you're screwed. That's how greedy Texas Instruments can be.

Otherwise there is TiLP. I don't know if TiLP tin update the Os, but the computer software can.

One time you format your reckoner or go a new 1, yous're screwed. That's how greedy Texas Instruments can be.

That said, provided one doesn't practice it more than several times, it's possible to call TI-Cares ("TI-DOESNT-Intendance" :D) to explain the trouble, and they provide new license keys :)

They nonetheless do? ??? I recall someone saying it didn't work anymore... :(

I can't believe that!  Thats terrible.  Who doesn't format their drive every once in a while? TI really doesn't care.  Thank you for the info though.  I'll bank check information technology out tomorrow since I need to sleep at present.  Oh and does TiLP II piece of work on windows?  I can dual boot a linux distro if I have to just I don't actually want to if I don't have to.

Cheers. :)

Oh and does TiLP II work on windows?

Nosotros wouldn't advise information technology and write "these [TINC(50)S and TILP" can exist installed side by side" otherwise ;)

It'south simply Windows that has a problem with multiple drivers for the same slice of hardware, and requires ugly workarounds. MacOS X doesn't, Linux doesn't, the BSDs don't :)

[EDIT: prepare a typo.]

We wouldn't  suggest it and write "these [TINC(L)S and TILP" can be installed adjacent" otherwise ;)

Deplorable almost that.  I was really tired and I'll try it out when I get dwelling.

Yes, that happened to me likewise when I got a new calculator. And TI would not give a new license.
"Luckily" for me I later ripped the battery cord when I was trying to take it out, and so I bought a new nspire and thus new software.

They still practise? ??? I recall someone proverb it didn't work anymore... :(

I got TI to send me a new key so I guess they still do.
